I'm very excited to announce that my first eBook has been published and is now available for sale on youcanmakethis.com!
The book, Capturing Children's Clothing: A Photographer's Guide, discusses how to prepare for a shoot, tips for working with child models, advice for how to capture the best images on your shoot, and photo selection and editing.
In this book I share what I have learned about taking photos of children's clothing and accessories. It is targeted at the amateur photographer who wants to be able to take better photos without a making a large financial investment. I've always been willing to give free advice for fellow photographers, and am still willing to, but I wanted to also offer a comprehensive resource for people who want to work to improve their modeling photos.

Hey, you've got to start somewhere...
I thought it was only fitting to have this guy as my first featured subject. He's about the size of my regular subjects, and just about as cooperative ;) I found this fabulous-looking emu at the zoo yesterday, and had to try some portraits.
So let me introduce myself. My name is Emily and I am the photographer behind vera*lana photography. While I have been a photographer for some time now, my experience has been with children's fashion photography. I have recently decided to take that experience and offer children's portraits. My website is now available and offers examples of my work. (see places to go on the right)
I will be posting sneak previews from my portrait sessions, examples of my fashion photography, and other fun photos periodically.
